Shelly has an extensive and diverse career in the entertainment industry, exploding onto the New York scene as a beguiling, gifted child star, dancer, singer and actress. At the age of seven she headlined at the renowned Apollo and Palace Theatres, then made her Broadway debut on stage with Pearl Bailey and Diahann Carroll in the celebrated Broadway hit musical, “The House of Flowers.” She went on to dazzle audiences touring nationwide with Cab Calloway in his famous “Cotton Club Revue.”
She has recorded and toured with various artist including Dusty Springfield, DJ Rogers, Tom Jones, Little Richard, and the talented Richard Harris. Shelly also toured around the country with “The Ike and Tina Turner Revue” as one of the storied “Ikettes.” She was a co-founder and member of the classic girls group,”The Honey Cone” with number one and top ten hits on the billboard charts, garnering numerous gold records and industry awards. She has been married 35 Years to Verdine White, iconic bass player and co-founder of the legendary band, “Earth Wind and Fire.”
Born in Washington DC, Kathy Merrick started her career at the tender age of eight in dance and musical theatre. She attended prestigious Howard University and performed in local night clubs and concert halls in the area, which included performances with her talented brothers, “The Merricks.” She went on to become one of the founding members of the exciting female trio, “Shades of Lace” on the Polygram label. She also appeared on Video Soul, Soul Train, CNN, Show Biz Today, Solid Gold, and the Apollo Theatre with the late iconic “Father of Soul,” James Brown. Kathy went on to tour worldwide as a member of the captivating girls trio,”A.S.A.P.”. Other tours and recording ventures included great talents such as Boz Skaggs, James Ingram, and Tom Jones. For the last ten years, she has also toured extensively with the legendary “Sounds of the Supremes” and other Motown acts such as “The Temptations.” Last but not least, Kathy has a three octave range and is a prolific songwriter and producer, working with musician and drummer extraordinaire, John Paris.
Educated at Norfolk State University in Virginia, Wendy studied classical flute and performed with the local symphony. She moved to Los Angeles where her vocal talents immediately got the attention of genius of soul, the late great Ray Charles. In addition to touring worldwide with his revue as a “Raelette,” she also worked with legendary artists such as Michael Bolton, Sheena Easton, Chaka Khan, and the late great Barry White. Wendy has been a featured soloist with many great bands including the Count Basie Orchestra and legendary soul quartet, “The Friends of Distinction”. For many years she has been the main female soloist performing worldwide with the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
Wendy has also performed for the Emmy Awards, the Academy Awards, the prestigious Governor’s Ball as well as the Golden Globes, and the American Music Awards. Wendy’s amazing musical talents range from pop, R&B, jazz, and soul to Latin culture.
